How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Bosch dryers
Bosch 24-inch dryers are most often ventless condensation or heat pump models, which suits the closet and condo laundry spaces where they live, though vented versions exist. Ventless dryers take longer than a vented full-size dryer, so some calls turn out to be expected behavior, but genuine faults are common too. Clogged condenser or heat exchanger fins, a full water reservoir, a blocked drain hose, a lint-coated moisture sensor and heater or thermostat failures all lead to damp loads. We check the condenser, water path, sensors and heat source before quoting.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Bosch. If this dryer is still under its factory warranty, contact Bosch first.
Where Bosch dryers usually fail
- Long dry times from a lint-clogged condenser or heat exchanger
- Container-full warning staying on after the reservoir is emptied
- Condensate drain hose kinked or blocked in a stacked setup
- Heating element or thermostat failure leaving loads cold
- Moisture sensor coated with residue ending cycles too early

Repairing Bosch dryers in the Las Vegas Valley
Bosch makes 24-inch dryers in three styles: vented models, condensation models that remove moisture with a heat exchanger, and heat pump models that recycle warm air in a closed loop. The 500 and 800 Series are the ones we meet most often, usually stacked above a Bosch compact washer in a closet or laundry nook.
Knowing which type you own is the starting point, because each one fails differently. A long cycle on a heat pump dryer can be normal, while the same cycle time on a vented dryer would point straight at a blocked duct. We confirm the type from the model label before we test a single part.
Vented versus ventless Bosch dryers
A vented model pushes hot, wet air outside, so the duct matters as much as the dryer. Condensation and heat pump models never vent outdoors. They cool the air to pull water out, then send that water to a container or a drain hose.
The closed-loop design suits a condo or a closet with no outside wall, but it puts more weight on lint control. Every fiber that slips past the screens ends up on the heat exchanger or in the condensate path.
Symptoms and what they point to
Clothes come out warm but damp: the heat exchanger or condenser is coated, or the moisture sensor is ending the cycle early. Clothes come out cool and damp: the heating element, thermostat or heat pump compressor needs testing. A container warning that will not clear usually means the condensate pump or a float is stuck.
Dry valley air helps any dryer finish faster, so a Bosch that suddenly takes much longer here is telling you something changed inside.
Owner maintenance that prevents calls
Clean the door lint screen every load and the second filter or condenser screen as often as the manual says. Rinse the heat exchanger on condensation models when the reminder light comes on, and let it dry before reinstalling. Wipe the two metal moisture sensor strips inside the drum with a little vinegar.
Unplug the dryer before removing any panel. Do not use a brush on heat pump fins hard enough to bend them, and do not run the dryer with the condenser removed.
The repair visit and the repair decision
We confirm the dryer type, check every filter stage, test the sensor, heater or heat pump circuit and run water through the drain path. If the dryer drains to a standpipe, we check that hose for kinks behind the stack.
Sensor, pump, thermostat and element repairs are usually worth doing. A failed heat pump compressor costs more, and on an older condenser model we will compare it against replacing the dryer with one that still fits your stacking kit.

Longer than a full-size vented dryer, because it removes moisture by condensing it rather than blowing hot air outside. A typical mixed load on a compact condensation dryer can take noticeably longer than people expect. If drying time has grown steadily, or loads come out damp at the end, the condenser or a sensor likely needs cleaning or testing.
Many Bosch condensation dryers have a removable condenser behind a lower front panel, and the manual explains how to unlock it. Unplug the dryer, pull the condenser out, rinse it gently in a shower or sink, and let it drain before reinstalling. Heat pump models use a self-cleaning system or fluff filter, so follow your model's instructions.
The low humidity here helps, since a condensation dryer works more easily when the room air is dry. What hurts it is a small closet with closed doors in a hot home, because the dryer relies on room air for cooling. Leaving the closet door open or adding louvered doors can noticeably improve drying time.
First empty the container and reseat it fully. If the warning stays, the float in the container area, the condensate pump or a blocked hose may be the problem. If the dryer is plumbed to drain directly, check that the hose is not kinked behind the stack. We test the pump and sensor if it continues.
Look for a duct connection at the back. If there is one, it is a vented model. If there is a removable water container in the top left or a drain hose and no duct, it is ventless. The model label inside the door will also say condensation or heat pump on most units.
Ventless dryers run cooler and longer, and loads sit tumbling in warm air. Overloading the 24-inch drum makes wrinkling worse. Use a smaller load, choose a lower-heat or anti-crease setting and remove clothes soon after the cycle. If loads are also damp, the condenser or sensor should be checked.
Most Bosch condensation and heat pump models include a kit to route condensate to a nearby drain or the washer standpipe. The hose must stay below the height limit in the manual and must not kink. A properly routed drain removes the most common nuisance warning.
That symbol usually means the dryer detected restricted airflow or a full filter stage. Clean both lint screens and the condenser or heat exchanger, then restart. If the warning returns with clean filters, a sensor or the blower path may be blocked, which we can check without guesswork.
Usually, when the fault is a sensor, pump, fan or control. Heat pump units cost more new than condensation models, which makes repair attractive. If the sealed heat pump system itself fails on an older dryer, we will give you the repair price and an honest opinion on replacement.
