How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Electrolux dryers
Electrolux dryers are front-load-style units, gas or electric, often with steam refresh cycles and moisture sensing. Common repairs include a drum that won't turn because the belt or idler has failed, a dryer that runs cold from a blown thermal fuse or heating element, and moisture sensor bars coated with dryer-sheet residue that end cycles early. Steam models also have a water valve and nozzle that can clog with minerals. We check the exhaust, test the heat circuit and sensors, and quote a single price before replacing parts.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Electrolux. If this dryer is still under its factory warranty, contact Electrolux first.
Where Electrolux dryers usually fail
- Moisture sensor bars coat over and cycles end early
- Steam nozzle clogs with mineral scale from hard water
- Thermal fuse opens after the exhaust vent restricts airflow
- Drive belt snaps and the drum no longer turns
- Gas igniter weakens and the burner lights inconsistently

Repairing Electrolux dryers in the Las Vegas Valley
An Electrolux dryer is usually half of a front-load pair and is designed to stack or sit on a pedestal. Many have Perfect Steam for refreshing and dewrinkling, plus moisture sensing that ends the cycle when clothes are dry. Gas and electric versions share the same drum and controls, with different heat sources underneath.
Because these dryers lean on sensors more than older timer dryers, many complaints come from inaccurate readings rather than failed heat. A dryer that stops early, or runs far too long, is often reacting to what its sensors report, so we check those first along with the vent. Long attic duct runs, common in single-story stucco homes, make the vent part of the story more often than owners expect.
How sensor drying changes the diagnosis
Moisture sensor bars touch wet clothes and send a signal to the control. Fabric softener and dryer sheet residue builds a film that blocks that signal, so the dryer thinks clothes are dry. A thermistor in the exhaust path also reports temperature, and if it drifts, heat cycling gets erratic.
We test both before replacing a heat part, because a heating element in good shape cannot fix bad sensor data.
The steam system on Electrolux dryers
Steam models bring water in through a valve on the back, feed it to a nozzle inside the drum and require a cold water connection. With valley water, scale can restrict the nozzle and valve screen. Sometimes the steam feature fails while the dryer otherwise dries fine.
Owner checks that help
Wipe the sensor bars inside the drum with a little rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth. Clean the lint screen with warm water and a brush if it looks waxy. Check the outside vent for strong airflow. On steam models, make sure the water supply valve is open.
On a gas dryer, leave the gas connection and burner alone. If you smell gas, shut off the supply and contact the gas company.
The repair visit and what it costs you in time
We check exhaust restriction, test the heat circuit, sensors and safety thermostats, and inspect the drum, belt and rollers if there is noise. On stacked pairs, some repairs need the dryer lifted off the washer, which we do with proper equipment.
Most dryer repairs are completed in a single visit. A specific control or steam part may need ordering. You approve one price for parts and labor first.

Electrolux dryers use sensor bars inside the drum to judge moisture. Dryer sheets and fabric softener leave a coating that can fool the sensors into reading the load as dry. Wipe the bars with rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth. If cycles still end early, the sensor or control may need testing.
Confirm the cold water supply to the dryer is on and the hose isn't kinked. The steam water valve and nozzle can clog with minerals, which is common on valley water, and the inlet screen can collect sediment. If water is reaching the dryer but no steam comes out, those parts need testing.
Run the dryer and check the outside vent hood. Air should push out strongly and warmly. If the flow is weak, loads take longer, or the thermal fuse has blown more than once, the vent run is likely restricted. Clean it before replacing parts, or the new fuse will fail too.
Yes. Stacked pairs in closets are common in apartments and condos, and many dryer repairs require lifting the dryer off the washer or pulling the pair forward. We bring the right equipment and check the space first. Let us know about any tight closet access when you book.
Yes. Steam models need a cold water connection, usually shared with the washer through a Y-fitting. Without it, the dryer works but the steam options do not. If steam stopped after a move or a new installation, check that the water hookup is connected and the valve open.
If the drum heats but clothes stay wet, airflow is often the cause. Moist air cannot leave, so clothes stew in it. A clogged duct, crushed transition hose or blocked lint housing is common. Overfilling the drum or mixing heavy and light items can also leave some pieces damp.
Most Electrolux front-load pairs are designed to stack with a stacking kit made for the model. The kit secures the dryer to the washer. We can check that your units are compatible, but installing a stack involves lifting and should be done with care and proper equipment.
Many models tumble the load without heat for a few minutes at the end of the cycle to reduce wrinkles and lower the fabric temperature. That is normal and not a fault. If the dryer gets stuck in cool down or never finishes, a sensor or the control may be at fault.
At least once a year is a sensible baseline, and more often for long runs, roof terminations or homes with pets. Dust from outside and lint from inside build up together, and a restricted vent shortens the life of the heat parts. Watch for longer dry times as the warning sign.
