Dishwasher Repair Questions

Straight answers to what people ask before booking. If your question isn't here, send it with your booking request and we'll answer it.

Still have questions?

We cover 15 ZIP codes in Enterprise, Spring Valley, Paradise and southern Henderson.

Start with the filter under the lower spray arm, which clogs with food and labels. If it is clean, check whether the drain hose has a kink or the garbage disposal knockout plug was never removed after a new install. When those are fine, the drain pump, its impeller or a check valve has usually failed and should be tested.

It is better not to. Small leaks under a built-in dishwasher tend to soak the subfloor and cabinet base before they show on the floor. Shut off the water supply valve under the sink, turn the machine off at the breaker or unplug it, and wipe up what you can. A technician can find whether the gasket, a seal or a hose connection is the source.

Possibly. Many newer machines, especially Bosch models, dry by condensation rather than a heater, so some moisture on plastics is normal. If glass and china are wet too, check that rinse aid is filled. Wet dishes plus lukewarm water at the end of the cycle point toward a failed element, thermostat or control.

Yes. We repair commercial dish machines such as Hobart units in addition to residential models. Commercial machines run different wash temperatures and have sanitizing requirements of their own, so tell us the make, the model and how the kitchen uses it when you book, and we can plan the visit around service hours.

Usually trapped food and grease in the filter, the sump or the door gasket folds, sometimes made worse by a drain hose without a high loop, which lets sink water seep back in. Clean the filter, wipe the gasket and run a hot empty cycle. If the smell returns quickly or water sits in the sump, a drain fault is likely and worth testing.

No. We are an independent repair company and are not factory-authorized by any manufacturer. If your dishwasher is still under the manufacturer's warranty, contact the manufacturer first, since work by an independent shop may not be covered. Out-of-warranty dishwashers get manufacturer-specified parts by default and a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty on the repair.

Dishwasher · Las Vegas Valley

Dishwasher repair in the Las Vegas Valley

A dishwasher is a sealed tub with a pump, a heater, a few valves and a control board, and nearly every failure is about water: it does not get in, it does not get hot, it does not spray hard enough, or it does not get back out. Each of those has a short list of likely parts.

Hard valley water adds a layer of confusion. Mineral scale narrows spray arm jets, coats heaters and inlet screens and leaves white film on glasses, which can look like a mechanical fault when it is not. Our dishwasher repair visits separate water chemistry from broken parts before anything gets replaced.

When the dishes tell you something is wrong

Grit on the top rack, a cloudy film, cups that come out wet, or a puddle of gray water in the bottom are the reports we hear most. Others are louder: a grinding or humming pump, a door that will not latch, or a control panel that blinks and refuses to start.

Water on the floor needs quick attention, since leaks under a built-in can reach cabinets and flooring before anyone notices.

Typical failures inside the tub

Drain pumps jam on glass and seeds, filters clog, and check valves stick. Inlet valves weaken or scale up, float switches stick, and wash motors lose pressure. Heating elements and thermostats fail, which leaves dishes wet, and door latches and switches wear from daily use. Leaks usually come from a door gasket, a tub seal, a spray arm hub or a loose supply connection.

Dishwasher makes we service

Bosch, Miele and Thermador models are common in newer kitchens, alongside KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Samsung and LG. We also repair Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer units, panel-ready JennAir and Gaggenau models, and commercial Hobart machines in restaurants and bars.

From test cycle to fixed

Most dishwashers have a diagnostic or test cycle, and the technician uses it to run the fill, wash, drain and heat stages one at a time. Filters and sump are inspected, the suspect part is measured, and any stored code is read.

Then a single parts-and-labor price goes to you for approval. After the repair, the machine runs a cycle with us watching for leaks.

Why TrueFix for dishwashers

We answer every call at any hour, with no surcharge for nights or weekends. If there is space on the route we can often come the same day, but we will not promise it before checking. Parts follow the manufacturer's specification by default, and the work is backed by a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.
