What to know about Dacor dishwashers

Dacor dishwashers are 24-inch built-ins, most often panel-ready so they disappear into the cabinetry, with stainless tubs, third racks and quiet operation. The custom panel adds weight to the door, so door springs, hinges and cables wear out and the door drops open or will not stay put. Other common faults include leak detection that stops the cycle, drain pump failures, heater or sensor problems and controls hidden on the top edge of the door that stop responding. Hard water scale is a factor here too. We find leaks, test pumps and controls and quote before repair.

TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Dacor. If this dishwasher is still under its factory warranty, contact Dacor first.

Where Dacor dishwashers usually fail

  • Door springs weaken under a heavy custom panel
  • Leak detection stops the cycle and the drain runs
  • Top-edge door controls stop responding to presses
  • Drain pump fails and water stays in the tub
  • Hard water scale builds on spray arms and heater

Repairing Dacor dishwashers in the Las Vegas Valley

Dacor dishwashers are 24-inch built-ins offered panel-ready and in stainless, with controls hidden along the top edge of the door. Newer models share a platform with Samsung's premium dishwashers, while older Dacor units came from earlier suppliers, so the pumps, sensors and control layout depend heavily on the age of the machine.

Whatever the generation, the dishwasher sits between finished cabinets under a stone counter, often beside a matching panel on the refrigerator. We start every visit by identifying the platform from the tag on the door edge, then test the machine through a cycle before deciding what needs to come out.

Designed for silence, harder to read

Quiet operation is a selling point, so these machines use heavy insulation and controls that are invisible once the door closes. Some project a small status light onto the floor, others give no outside sign at all. That means a cycle can stall partway and nobody notices until the door is opened hours later.

Many Dacor models dry by condensation on the stainless tub rather than with a large exposed heating element. Plastic containers will often stay damp by design, which is worth knowing before assuming the dryer function has failed.

Connecting a complaint to a component

Grit on glassware tends to mean food particles are recirculating because the filter is loaded, or a spray arm has a cracked hub. A wash that sounds normal but leaves the top rack dirty can point to a diverter that is not switching water between zones.

Dishes that are wet and also cool to the touch at the end suggest the water never got hot enough, which sends us to the heater, the thermistor and the incoming hot water temperature at the sink. A cycle that ends early with water left in the tub is a drain or sensor issue, not a cleaning one.

Checks that do not risk the panels

Pull the lower rack and twist out the filter assembly, rinse it under the faucet and check the sump for glass or bone. Spin each spray arm by hand. Run the kitchen tap until it is hot before starting a cycle, which helps any dishwasher on a long run from the water heater.

Leave the toe kick and the decorative panel alone unless the breaker is off. If water is on the floor, shut the valve under the sink and do not run another cycle.

Hard water on a luxury dishwasher

Valley water leaves scale on spray arm jets, on the heater and on the inside of the door, and Dacor's tight spray patterns lose effectiveness quickly when the jets narrow. Keep rinse aid topped up and use a dishwasher cleaner monthly.

Scale also coats the sensors that judge water clarity on some models, which can make cycles run longer than they should. Cleaning them is part of our visit when the machine is apart.

When to repair a Dacor dishwasher

Pumps, valves, door hinges, sensors and controls are all worth replacing on a Dacor, especially because a new panel-ready machine means refitting and rehanging the custom panel. We quote one price including parts and labor before starting.

If a pre-acquisition model needs a control that is no longer made, we will tell you that early, along with what a replacement would involve.

Dacor Dishwasher Repair Questions

Straight answers to what people ask before booking. If your question isn't here, send it with your booking request and we'll answer it.

Still have questions?

We cover 15 ZIP codes in Enterprise, Spring Valley, Paradise and southern Henderson.

The door springs and cables are set for a specific panel weight. If the panel is heavier than recommended, or the springs have stretched, the door falls open instead of balancing. We check the panel weight and spring tension and replace worn springs or cables so the door holds position.

Usually not a flood; often just a small amount of water in the base pan from a seal, hose or valve. Turn off the water and power, wipe up any visible water and avoid running it again. We remove the toe kick and find the source so the base can dry and the leak is fixed.

Scale builds up on the spray arms, the heater and the inside of the pump, which reduces cleaning and drying. Use rinse aid and a hard water detergent, and run a descaling cleaner periodically. If spray arms are clogged, remove them and clear the holes gently.

We can remove and reinstall the panel during repairs and adjust the door springs to match. Building or finishing a new cabinet panel is carpentry work, so if the panel itself is damaged, a cabinetmaker should make it, and we can then fit it and balance the door.

Open the door and look along the side or top edge of the tub for the rating tag with model and serial numbers. Send us those numbers or a photo of the tag when you book. That tells us whether the machine is on the newer Samsung-era platform or an earlier design, which affects parts and the repair plan.

Many dishwashers adjust cycle time as they sense soil and water temperature. If the incoming water is cool or the heater is weak, the machine waits longer to heat. Scaled sensors can also stretch the cycle. Run the hot tap first; if the time is still extreme, we test the heater and sensors.

Usually. The door springs, hinge tension and the dishwasher's mounting brackets can be adjusted so the panel clears the cabinets. If the dishwasher has shifted on its brackets, it may need to be resecured. Rubbing should be fixed early, because it can chip the panel and strain the hinges.

Yes. Condensation drying relies on dishes holding heat, and plastic does not hold much. Rinse aid helps water sheet off, and cracking the door open after the cycle lets steam escape. If glass and ceramic dishes are also coming out wet and cool, the heating side should be checked.

Most repairs can be done without removing the panel. When the machine has to come out, we disconnect the panel or slide the dishwasher out with it attached, depending on the design, and protect the countertop edge. The panel goes back on aligned with the cabinets around it.
