How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Fisher & Paykel dishwashers
The Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer is a drawer-style dishwasher, available as a single or double drawer, with each drawer running independently. When a cycle starts, a lid lowers onto the drawer to form a seal, so failures of the lid actuator, lid seal or drawer alignment can cause leaks or a cycle that will not start. We also replace drain pumps, wash motors, filters and flood sensors, and service the brand's standard full-size dishwashers. Because drawers are often fitted with custom panels, we protect them during work. Each visit includes reading the fault history, checking the lid mechanism, seals and pump, and quoting one price.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Fisher & Paykel. If this dishwasher is still under its factory warranty, contact Fisher & Paykel first.

Repairing Fisher & Paykel dishwashers in the Las Vegas Valley
A DishDrawer does not work like a conventional dishwasher. Each drawer is a small, self-contained tub that slides out, and when a cycle starts, a lid inside the cabinet lowers to seal it. Pumps, heater and sensors sit in the drawer itself, connected to the cabinet by flexible cables and hoses that move every time you open it.
That design is clever and convenient, but it creates failure points that standard dishwashers do not have. Diagnosing it means knowing how the lid, drawer and connections work together, and many issues come from wear in the moving parts rather than a failed board or pump. Knowing that saves owners from replacing expensive electronics to cure what is really a tired lid seal.
Single and double drawers
On double units, each drawer has its own pumps, motor and controls, so one can fail while the other works. That is helpful, since you still have a working dishwasher, but it also means there are two sets of parts to keep in good order.
Older single drawers and the full-size Fisher & Paykel dishwashers have their own designs. We read the model tag first to confirm which we are working on.
Hard water and the drawer system
Because each drawer uses a small amount of water, scale and food residue concentrate quickly. Filters, the wash impeller and the lid seal can collect deposits, which affect cleaning and sealing.
Regular filter cleaning and using rinse aid help. A drawer that leaves a gritty film on glasses may need descaling before any part is replaced.
Scale on the lid seal is easy to miss. A thin mineral crust stops the rubber from pressing evenly against the tub rim, and the first sign can be a small drip at the drawer front during the wash.
Checks an owner can do
Remove and clean the filter in each drawer. Make sure nothing on the racks is catching the lid as it lowers, such as a tall utensil or a plate edge. Check that the drawer slides in fully and is not stopped by a mat or towel at the toe kick.
Turn off power before removing the drawer front. Do not pull on the flexible cable or hoses behind the drawer.
Is a DishDrawer worth repairing?
Lid actuators, seals, filters, pumps and sensors are repairable, and on a panel-ready drawer that matches the kitchen, repair usually makes sense. Replacement drawers also need custom panels refitted.
On older units with multiple failures, or where a drawer tub has cracked, we will give you the full repair cost and our honest view.

The drawer must close fully and the lid must lower to seal before washing begins. Items poking above the rack, a misaligned drawer, or a failed lid actuator can prevent this. Check that nothing blocks the lid and the drawer closes flush. If it still will not start, the lid mechanism and its sensors need testing.
Yes. Each drawer in a double DishDrawer has its own pump, motor and lid system, so one drawer can fault while the other runs normally. Running the working drawer is generally fine until repair. Let us know which drawer is affected and any fault indication, since that guides the parts we bring.
A worn or damaged lid seal is the most frequent cause. Check the seal for food debris, tears or deformation, and clean it gently. Excess detergent can also cause suds to escape. If the seal looks worn or leaks continue, replacing it is a common repair. Turn off the water if the leak is significant.
Scale can coat the filter, spray arm and inlet path, reducing wash performance, and it leaves white film on dishes. Use rinse aid and the correct detergent for hard water, and clean the filter regularly. If performance falls off despite that, the spray arm and inlet should be inspected and cleaned during a service visit.
When a cycle starts, a motor-driven actuator lowers a lid inside the cabinet onto the top of the drawer tub, and a seal around the lid's edge keeps water in. If the actuator weakens or the seal wears, the lid may not close fully, so water escapes or the drawer refuses to begin washing. We check both during a visit.
Many drawer models are designed for powder or liquid detergent in measured doses, and some pods may not dissolve well in the smaller dispenser or water volume. Check your manual. Using too much detergent in a small tub can leave residue and affect sensors, especially with hard water.
Mid-cycle stops with a beep often mean a sensor flagged a problem, such as water in the base, a lid that did not stay closed or a drain that is too slow. Note any code or light pattern. Clean the filter and check the drain hose under the sink before booking.
Many repairs, including lid seals, filters and some pumps, can be done by pulling the drawer out and working on it in place. Others require removing the drawer tub or the whole unit from the cabinet. We protect panels and cabinetry during either type of work.
A flood sensor in the base detects water and stops the drawer to prevent damage. The water usually comes from a lid seal, hose or pump leak. Turn off the drawer and power, and do not tilt the unit to drain it. The leak source needs to be found before the drawer is used again.
