What to know about Thor Kitchen refrigerators
Thor Kitchen refrigerators are professional-style stainless units, mostly 36-inch French door models with bottom freezer drawers, plus some built-in and column-style options. They tend to anchor a matching Thor suite next to a pro-style range. Common repairs include ice makers that stop producing, evaporator and condenser fan failures, frost from defrost problems and temperature controls that read incorrectly. In Las Vegas kitchens, a fridge set close to a large gas range and surrounded by cabinetry can struggle in summer. We check clearances, temperatures, fans and the ice system, and quote before ordering parts.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Thor Kitchen. If this refrigerator is still under its factory warranty, contact Thor Kitchen first.

Other Refrigerator Brands We Service
Repairing Thor Kitchen refrigerators in the Las Vegas Valley
Thor Kitchen sells refrigerators mainly as part of a matching suite: 36-inch counter-depth French door models with a bottom freezer drawer, built-in units, and in some lines column-style refrigerators and freezers. Stainless doors, tubular bar handles and bright LED interior lighting are meant to match a Thor range a few feet away.
Under the stainless, these refrigerators use fairly conventional frost-free systems: an evaporator with a defrost heater, circulating fans, electronic controls and an ice maker in the freezer drawer. Thor is a younger brand without its own network of parts depots, so part sourcing is part of planning the repair. We identify the model, test the system and confirm parts before quoting.
Counter-depth design and heat
Counter-depth refrigerators sit flush with cabinets, which looks clean but limits airflow around the cabinet. Most Thor models breathe through a front grille at the bottom. If dust or a rug blocks it, the condenser runs hot and the fridge struggles in warm weather.
These refrigerators are often installed next to a large gas range. Radiant heat from the range and the oven vent can warm the refrigerator side panel, adding load. Proper spacing or a heat shield can matter as much as any part.
Clues from the freezer drawer
On bottom-freezer models, the freezer drawer holds the evaporator, the defrost heater and often the ice maker. Frost on the back wall, ice in the drawer tracks or a drawer that will not close fully usually points to defrost problems or a seal issue.
If the freezer is cold but the fresh-food section is warm, air may not be reaching the top compartment because of frost buildup or a failed damper or fan.
Owner checks
Clean the lower grille, make sure the drawer slides freely and check the door gaskets for gaps. Look at the temperature settings and compare them with a thermometer reading after a few hours.
Do not chip ice from the evaporator area or remove rear panels. If the refrigerator is making a loud buzzing or burning smell, unplug it and move food to coolers.
Parts and repair decisions
Fans, sensors, defrost components, ice makers and drawer slides are typical repairs. Because Thor is a newer brand, some parts may take longer to arrive, so we confirm availability before scheduling the repair.
Sealed-system repairs are possible but more expensive. We compare that cost with replacement and explain the options clearly.

We cover 15 ZIP codes in Enterprise, Spring Valley, Paradise and southern Henderson.
A pro-style range throws a lot of heat, and if the fridge sits right beside it in tight cabinetry, the condenser has a harder time shedding heat. Check the clearances in the manual and keep the condenser area clean. If temperatures stay high, a fan, sensor or defrost fault should be diagnosed.
Usually an overfilled basket, ice buildup or a damaged slide. Remove the basket and check for items behind it, then look for frost on the rails. If a slide is bent or broken, it needs replacement so the drawer seals; a drawer left ajar lets frost build quickly.
Place a thermometer in a glass of water on a middle shelf and leave it overnight. Compare it with the display. A few degrees of difference is common. If food is spoiling or freezing while the display looks normal, the temperature sensor or control may need testing.
Many parts are available through the brand's distribution, but they are less commonly stocked locally than for mainstream brands, so some repairs require ordering. We identify the part number during diagnosis and give you the expected wait along with the price.
Water from defrosting can freeze in the tracks if the drain is blocked or the drawer seal is leaking. That ice can stop the drawer from closing fully, which leads to more frost. We clear the drain, check the heater and replace the seal if needed.
No. The light only shows that the door switch and the lighting circuit are working. Cooling is a separate system, and a refrigerator can be fully lit and still warm. Put an appliance thermometer in the middle of the fresh-food section and read it a few hours later. If the light works but the reading keeps rising, the fans, defrost system or compressor need testing.
Usually. French doors hang on hinges that can be raised or lowered, and loaded door bins slowly pull a door out of line. We adjust the hinge, check the center flipper mullion that seals the gap between the doors, and confirm that both gaskets seal along their full length. Misaligned doors are a common cause of frost and sweating.
Small or hollow cubes usually mean the ice maker is not getting enough water during each fill. Low household pressure, an old filter or a partly frozen fill tube can cause it. Scale from hard valley water also narrows the inlet valve screen over time. A new filter is the first step; if cubes stay small, we test the valve and the fill tube.
Follow the interval in the manual as a minimum, and expect to change it sooner if flow slows or ice tastes off. Hard tap water loads filters faster than in many other regions. A clogged filter strains the inlet valve and slows the ice maker, so replacing it on schedule is cheaper than replacing those parts later.
