How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Perlick refrigerators
Perlick refrigerators are undercounter units, refrigerator and freezer drawers, and beverage centers built into kitchens, home bars and outdoor kitchens. Their stainless construction and front venting make them durable, but the front grille and condenser need clear airflow, and in dusty or outdoor installations they clog quickly. Common repairs include condenser fans, thermostats or electronic controls, door and drawer gaskets, and drawer slides. Outdoor units face heat that pushes the system hard. A visit includes cleaning the condenser, checking temperatures, testing fans and controls, and adjusting doors or drawers.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Perlick. If this refrigerator is still under its factory warranty, contact Perlick first.

Repairing Perlick refrigerators in the Las Vegas Valley
Perlick comes from the commercial bar world, and its residential refrigeration shows it: heavy stainless construction, front-vented compressors that sit flush under a counter, and many models rated for outdoor use. The Signature Series carries a stainless interior, while the C-Series offers a more accessible build. Both are small, hard-working units that open dozens of times on a busy evening.
That combination of compact size and heavy use is why airflow and seals matter so much. A Perlick unit has very little reserve. If the front grille is half blocked or a drawer gasket leaks, it shows quickly, and in a hot valley summer or an outdoor island it shows faster still.
Front venting under a counter
Perlick undercounter units breathe in and out through the grille at the bottom front, so the condenser sits right where floor dust, lint and pet hair collect. Indoors that build-up is gradual. Outdoors, a windy week can pack the coil.
A clogged condenser forces the compressor to run longer and hotter, which shortens its life. Cleaning it is the single most valuable maintenance step for any Perlick refrigerator.
Drawers, slides and gaskets
Refrigerator and freezer drawers each carry their own gasket and a pair of slides. Heavy loads of bottles and cans strain those slides over time, and a slide that binds or sags stops the drawer from closing square. The gasket then leaks on one side.
We clean, adjust or replace slides and gaskets, and confirm each drawer front lines up with its neighbors so the seal is even all the way around.
Outdoor and garage-bar installs
Outdoor-rated Perlick units handle heat better than indoor models, but direct afternoon sun on an island face and hot patio air still push them to the limit. Indoor-only models placed in a hot garage bar can struggle all summer.
We check the model rating on the data plate and look at shade, clearance and how the island was built before blaming a part.
Five minutes of owner checks
Unplug the unit and vacuum the front grille with a brush attachment. Close each door or drawer on a strip of paper to test the seal. Look for bottles leaning on the back wall or blocking the fan inside.
Avoid prying the grille panel off or reaching into the condenser area with power on, and do not lift drawers off their slides unless the manual shows how.
Repair or replace
Perlick units are built to last, and condenser fans, thermostats, electronic controls, gaskets, slides and hinges are all worthwhile repairs. Replacement means matching a specific cutout and, often, a panel or finish.
A sealed-system failure on an older unit is the main case where we would discuss replacement.

Drawer slides can stiffen or bend, especially when drawers are overloaded, and the gasket can tear or flatten. A drawer that does not close tightly lets warm air in, causing frost and temperature problems. Check that nothing is blocking the drawer at the back and that it is not overloaded. We adjust or replace slides and gaskets as needed.
Turn off power at the breaker or the unit's switch. Remove the grille at the bottom front, then gently vacuum the condenser fins with a brush attachment. Do this every few months, and more often outdoors or in a dusty home. A clogged condenser makes the unit run hot and nearly nonstop.
Not necessarily. Outdoor-rated Perlick units are built for heat, but valley summer afternoons, direct sun and a dusty grille push them hard. Shade the area if possible and keep the grille clean. If the unit cannot hold temperature in normal conditions, or never cycles off, we test the fan, controls and sealed system.
Frost or ice on the back wall usually means moisture is getting in through a door that is not sealing, or that the defrost function has stopped working. Check the gasket and how the door closes. Frequent door openings during a party on a hot day add moisture too. If ice keeps building after the seal is fixed, the defrost function needs testing.
The Signature Series generally uses a stainless interior and heavier-duty components, while the C-Series offers a more accessible build with a different interior finish. Both are front-vented undercounter designs. Repairs are similar, but parts are specific to each series and model, so we confirm the model number before ordering.
Indoors, every few months is a good habit, more often with pets. Outdoors, check it monthly in windy or dusty seasons and after dust storms. A quick vacuum of the grille with the unit unplugged takes minutes and keeps the compressor from working harder than it needs to.
Some Perlick models are designed as convertible units that can run as a refrigerator or freezer, selected through the control. Others are fixed. Check the model and manual. If yours is convertible and does not reach freezer temperatures in that mode, the system should be checked.
Cans that freeze near the back or bottom usually mean the thermostat or sensor is set too low or reading incorrectly, or cold air is concentrated in one area. Move cans away from the back wall and raise the setting slightly. If freezing continues, the sensor or control should be tested.
Many Perlick units have field-reversible doors, which helps when a bar layout changes. Reversing requires the correct hardware and careful alignment so the gasket seals evenly. If a door was reversed and now leaks or does not close firmly, a hinge adjustment usually fixes it.
