Some difference is normal, but a pan rail that cannot hold safe temperatures usually points to a dirty condenser, a weak evaporator fan, an open lid during service or low refrigerant charge. Keeping the lid closed during slow periods helps. We test airflow, the fan and refrigeration performance to find the cause.
Ice on the floor usually means the defrost drain line has frozen, so meltwater from defrost cycles refreezes inside. A failed drain line heater is a common cause. A failed defrost heater can also leave the evaporator iced solid. We test the defrost system and clear the drain.
Yes. Many newer Atosa models use R290, a hydrocarbon refrigerant that requires specific handling during sealed-system service. Most calls do not involve the sealed system at all: condensers, fans, controllers and defrost parts account for most failures. When refrigerant work is needed, we follow the correct procedures.
Thin or hollow cubes often come from scaled water distribution tubes, a weak water pump or harvest settings that need adjustment. Hard valley water speeds up scaling. Regular cleaning and a good water filter help. We descale as needed, test the pump and check harvest controls.
We try to. Tell us your service hours and how urgent the problem is when you book, and we will look for a time that works. If a unit is holding food at risk, let us know so we can prioritize as the schedule allows. Moving inventory to another unit while you wait is wise.
No. TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company with no affiliation to Atosa. If your Atosa is still under the manufacturer's warranty, contact Atosa first, because work by an independent shop may not be covered by that warranty. Once it is out of warranty, or if the warranty route does not work for you, we are glad to take a look.
Servicing Atosa in the Las Vegas Valley
Atosa makes commercial foodservice refrigeration: one-, two- and three-door reach-ins, undercounter and worktop units, sandwich and pizza prep tables, merchandisers and ice machines. Its stainless equipment is popular with restaurants, bars, cafes and food trucks that need reliable cold storage at a moderate cost, and the valley's large restaurant and hospitality industry keeps plenty of it in service, from Strip-adjacent kitchens to neighborhood taquerias.
Atosa appliance repair is commercial refrigeration work in a hot kitchen. Condensers clog with grease and flour, doors open hundreds of times a shift, and a warm cabinet can put inventory at risk. We aim to diagnose quickly, explain the fault plainly and quote one price before work begins, so the manager on shift can make a call without guessing.
Why Atosa units fail in busy kitchens
Atosa refrigeration uses a top- or bottom-mounted condensing unit with a digital controller, and many newer models run on R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant. The condenser pulls kitchen air across its coil, so grease, dust and flour quickly mat it. That raises head pressure, the compressor runs hot and the cabinet warms during the busiest hours.
Freezers add an electric defrost system with a heater, drain line heater and scheduled cycles. A failed defrost leaves the evaporator iced solid and drain lines frozen. R290 systems need specific service procedures, which we follow on any sealed-system work.
Atosa equipment we repair
Refrigerators: reach-ins, undercounter and worktop units, and prep tables with warm pan rails, condenser and fan failures, broken self-closing hinges, torn gaskets and controller probe errors.
Freezers: reach-in, undercounter and worktop freezers with defrost failures, frozen drain lines and compressors running nonstop. Ice machines: modular cube machines and self-contained undercounter units with scale, harvest problems, water pump issues and clogged air-cooled condensers.
What kitchen staff can check
Look at the condenser coil. If it is coated with grease or dust, that is the first suspect for a warming unit. Make sure the unit has clearance for air to move and that boxes are not blocking the vents. Check door gaskets for tears and confirm doors close by themselves.
For an ice machine making thin or cloudy ice, check the water filter and the cleaning schedule. On a freezer with ice on the cabinet floor, look for a frozen drain line. Write down any controller code before calling.
Repair decisions for commercial equipment
Commercial units earn their keep every shift, so most repairs make clear sense: fan motors, gaskets, hinges, controllers, defrost heaters, probes and condenser cleaning. A sealed-system failure on an older unit is the main case where replacement deserves a hard look.
We give you the price and our honest read, and we can talk through preventive condenser cleaning so the same failure is less likely to repeat.
