The star shape uses many small ports, and when food or cleaning residue blocks some of them, the flame looks uneven or patchy. A misaligned cap does the same. Cleaning the ports properly and reseating the cap usually solves it. If not, we check gas pressure and the burner base.

What Thermador owners can check first
If Star Burners click after cleaning, turn everything off and let the burner deck dry thoroughly, then confirm each cap sits flat. If a column refrigerator warms up, check the grille openings for dust and make sure nothing inside blocks the air vents.
For a dishwasher stopped by leak protection, turn it off at the breaker and do not tilt or rock it; the float in the base pan needs to dry, and the leak source needs to be found. On a microwave drawer, clear crumbs from the track before calling.
Repairing a luxury Thermador kitchen
With built-in columns, custom panels and pro-style ranges sized to their openings, repair is almost always the better value on Thermador equipment. Igniters, spark modules, fans, hinges, valves and boards are serviceable, and most can be reached without removing the appliance.
