Often it is the water softener running out of salt or set to the wrong hardness level. Valley tap water is hard, and without the softener working, minerals deposit on glassware, spray arms and the heater. Refill the salt and check the setting. If film persists, we test the softener and rinse aid dispenser.
Heat pump dryers dry at lower temperatures, so longer cycles are normal. A sharp increase usually points to a clogged plinth filter, a dusty heat exchanger, a full condensate container or coated moisture sensors. A very hot garage also slows a heat pump dryer. We clean and test those items before suspecting the heat pump.
With hard water, frequent descaling reminders are expected. If the request returns right after a full descaling program, the water system may have a sensor issue or residual scale. We check the tank, pump and generator, and recommend a descaling routine that fits your water.

Waterproof combines a sensor in the base and a safety valve at the water connection. If moisture collects in the base, it shuts off the supply to prevent flooding. The cause could be a small leak, a worn seal or excess foam. We locate the source, dry the base and reset the system.

Maintenance checks Miele owners can do
Open the dishwasher's salt reservoir in the bottom of the tub and refill it with dishwasher salt if it is low, and confirm the hardness setting matches hard water. On a T1 dryer, pull out and rinse the plinth filter behind the small panel at the bottom front, and let it dry before refitting.
If a washer stops with a drain message, check the drain filter behind the lower front panel for small items. If TwinDos stopped dispensing, check that the cartridges are seated and the detergent has not thickened.
