How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Miele ranges
Miele ranges come in 30-, 36- and 48-inch widths in all-gas and dual-fuel versions, with convection ovens and touch controls. Service on a range covers both halves of the appliance. In the oven, we commonly trace slow preheat or uneven baking to a convection fan, element or temperature sensor, and on dual-fuel models the electric oven needs a correct 240-volt supply to work properly. On top, ignition and reignition faults are the main issue. These are heavy appliances, so we also check leveling, the anti-tip bracket and door hinges. If you smell gas, shut off the supply and leave the house before calling anyone.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Miele. If this range is still under its factory warranty, contact Miele first.
Where Miele ranges usually fail
- Slow preheat traced to a convection element or fan
- Dual-fuel oven not heating due to a supply voltage problem
- Heavy oven door hinge wear causing a poor seal
- Range not level, so pans and baked goods sit unevenly
- Touch controls showing an error and refusing to start

Repairing Miele ranges in the Las Vegas Valley
A Miele range is two appliances sharing one frame: a gas cooking surface on top and an oven below that may be gas or electric. When something goes wrong, the problem can sit in either half or in the shared parts, such as the power supply, the electronic controls or the cooling system that protects them.
Wider models add complexity. A 48-inch range may have two oven cavities, a griddle or grill module, and more burners. Each of those has its own controls and sensors, and we test the parts that are working as well as the ones that are not, because a healthy half tells us a lot about the shared systems.
Dual fuel versus all-gas
A dual-fuel Miele range needs both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit. If the burners work but the oven is dead, the electric side is the first thing to check, starting with the breaker and the voltage at the connection. On an all-gas range the oven uses a gas burner with its own ignition, so a cold oven with working burners points to oven ignition or the gas valve.
Moisture plus surface spills can affect both halves on gas models with a shared spark module, which is why clicking burners and an oven that will not light sometimes show up together.
Controls and electronics on a pro-style range
Many Miele ranges use touch controls for the oven and sensors that track cavity temperature. A control fault can mimic a heating failure, so we read error messages and test sensors before replacing elements or igniters. A range that loses its settings after a power flicker may have a supply or board issue rather than a heating one. On models with a meat probe or a remote connection, those features can also trigger messages that stop a program, and we rule them out early.
Before your appointment
Note which burners, ovens and functions work and which do not, and whether any message appears. Check the breaker and, for dual fuel, confirm the range was not unplugged during cleaning or remodeling work.
Do not pull the range forward yourself. It is very heavy, it is anchored against tipping, and the gas connector behind it can be stressed or damaged in the move.
Repair or replace a professional-style range
Ranges in this class are designed to be serviced. Igniters, elements, sensors, fans, hinges and many controls are replaceable, and repair usually costs far less than replacement. We raise replacement only when major structural parts or several electronic modules have failed on an older unit.

On a dual-fuel range the oven is electric and needs a full 240-volt supply, while the burners only need gas and a small amount of power for ignition. A tripped breaker on one leg, a loose connection at the terminal block or a failed oven element can leave the oven cold while the cooktop works. We measure the supply before testing elements and sensors.
A worn hinge lets the door sit crooked or close with a gap at the top, and heat escapes there, often visible as discoloration on the trim or knobs. The door may also drop open quickly. Heavy range doors put real load on the hinges. They are replaceable, and fixing them restores the seal and helps the oven hold temperature.
We would not recommend it. These ranges are very heavy, connected to gas and often a 240-volt supply, and secured with an anti-tip bracket. Pulling one out can damage the flooring, the gas connector or the bracket. If it needs to come out for service, we handle it, shut off the gas properly and confirm the bracket is re-engaged afterward.
We start with the complaint and any error the controls show, then test the specific system: ignition and gas flow for the burners, elements, fan and sensor for the oven, and the supply on dual-fuel models. You get one price for parts and labor before we start. If a part needs ordering, we schedule the return visit once it arrives.
Slow preheat can come from a weak bake element or igniter, a convection fan not running, or a sensor reading that misleads the control. On large cavities some preheat time is normal, so we time it against the expected range and test each part.
It is uncommon for both cavities to fail from separate faults. When both stop together, a shared supply, a tripped breaker or a central control issue is more likely. That points the diagnosis away from individual elements or igniters. We check the breaker and the supply at the range before opening either cavity.
A brief, faint smell during oven ignition can occur on gas ovens as the burner lights. A strong or lasting smell is not normal. If you smell gas with everything off, shut off the gas, leave the house and call the gas utility before booking a repair.
The display having power rules out a dead supply, so attention moves to the oven controls, door lock, sensors or a mode such as Sabbath or demo. We check settings and lock status first, then test sensors and the control module.
Yes. If the range needs to come forward for access, we protect the floor, disconnect the supply safely, and reconnect and test for leaks before sliding it back. We also make sure the anti-tip bracket is reengaged. Packaging blankets and floor protection come with us on every range call.
