How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Kenmore ranges
Kenmore ranges include freestanding, slide-in and Elite models in gas, electric and dual-fuel, built over the years by Frigidaire, Whirlpool, LG and others. Some Elite ranges feature true convection, a warming drawer or double ovens, which add parts to diagnose. Because the cooktop and oven share a control and wiring, we evaluate the whole range: oven heating, the electronic control and keypad, surface burners, convection fan and the terminal block. During the visit we confirm the maker from the model number, read error codes, test components and check the gas or electrical connection before quoting.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Kenmore. If this range is still under its factory warranty, contact Kenmore first.

- Double oven lower cavity heats but upper cavity stays cold
- Warming drawer element not heating or drawer runs hot
- Dual-fuel range with burners working but oven dead
- Terminal block burned at the power cord connection
- Control panel resets itself or beeps randomly

Repairing Kenmore ranges in the Las Vegas Valley
A Kenmore range combines a cooktop, an oven and controls in one chassis, and the maker behind it shapes how they are wired. Frigidaire-built ranges, often with a 790 prefix, use their own control boards and oven sensors, while Whirlpool-built models use a different set of parts. Elite ranges add features like double ovens, true convection and warming drawers, which add more circuits.
When a range acts up, the symptom can come from the supply, the control, or a single component. We look at the whole range, read any error codes, test the parts involved and give one price for the repair. That approach avoids replacing a board for a problem that turns out to be a wire.
Double ovens and warming drawers
On an Elite double-oven range, each cavity has its own elements and sensor but often shares the control board. If one cavity fails and the other works, the fault is usually in that cavity's elements, sensor or relay. Warming drawers have their own element and control, which can fail without affecting the rest of the range.
Convection ranges add a fan and sometimes a third element at the back of the oven.
The power side of the range
Electric and dual-fuel Kenmore ranges use a heavy cord and terminal block at the back. A loose connection there can burn the block and cause intermittent power loss or a dead oven. We inspect the cord, the terminal block and the outlet when the problem points that way.
A control panel that beeps, resets or shows random codes can come from a failing board, a bad keypad or power problems. Summer storms sometimes cause surges that damage controls.
Things to try first on the range
Check the breaker and, on gas ranges, the gas supply. Try the control lock or reset the range by turning the breaker off for a minute. Note any codes on the display. Look at whether the range sits level and the anti-tip bracket is engaged.
Do not remove panels or attempt to repair the terminal block yourself. Range circuits carry high current.
Weighing repair and replacement
Elements, igniters, sensors, switches and terminal blocks are inexpensive repairs. A control board costs more but is often worthwhile on an Elite range that works well otherwise. On an older basic range with a failed board and other worn parts, replacement may be the better choice. We will give you a clear view of both options.

Each cavity has its own heating elements or burner and its own temperature sensor, but they often share a control board. If one cavity fails, its element, igniter or sensor is the likely culprit. If both have odd behavior, the control may be at fault. Testing determines which part needs replacing.
Erratic beeping or resets can come from a failing control board, a keypad short often caused by moisture or cleaning spray, or a loose power connection. Check whether it happens during cooking when the panel gets warm. Note the pattern before booking, since that helps narrow down whether the keypad or board is the cause.
Dual-fuel ranges use gas for burners and electricity for the oven, which typically requires a separate 240-volt circuit. If the oven is dead but burners light, check the range breaker first. Next, the bake element, temperature sensor or control relay may have failed. We test these on site.
Yes, it can be. A loose wire at the terminal block heats, burns the block, and can damage the power cord. Signs include a burning smell from the back, scorching, or intermittent power. Turn off the breaker and do not use the range until it is repaired. Replacement of the block and cord is usually straightforward.
Error codes on startup often point to a temperature sensor, a door lock circuit, a stuck keypad or a control board issue. The meaning varies by model and maker. Note the code, then turn the breaker off for a minute. If the code returns, the circuit it refers to needs testing. Avoid using self-clean until it is checked.
Warming drawers are meant to keep food warm, not to cook it. If the drawer is hot enough to cook or burn food on its low setting, the drawer's sensor, thermostat or control may have failed. Stop using it, and have the drawer's element and control tested. The rest of the range can usually be used normally.
The gas burners may still work if their spark ignition has power. The oven will not, since it uses electric elements. If both sides lose power, the cord, outlet, terminal block or breaker may be the cause. A dual-fuel range uses a high-voltage outlet, so the electric side should be checked by a technician.
Only if you can do it safely. Ranges are heavy, and pulling one forward can damage the floor or disconnect the gas line or cord. If a problem points to the cord, outlet or gas connection, it is best left to a technician. When we move a range, we check and reset the anti-tip bracket afterward.
Some clicking is normal as relays switch elements on and off to hold temperature. On gas models, clicking from the oven area can be the valve or igniter cycling. Loud, rapid or continuous clicking, especially with a burning smell, can point to a failing relay or a loose connection, which should be checked.
