How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about JennAir ranges
JennAir ranges include professional-style gas and dual-fuel models with heavy grates and large ovens, along with slide-in electric and induction ranges, some with downdraft. These ranges combine high-output cooking, convection ovens and electronic controls in one unit, so the faults vary: oven igniters and bake elements, convection fans, control boards and burner ignition. Professional-style models are heavy and fitted tightly to cabinets, so moving them takes planning. A visit includes identifying which system has failed, checking the power and gas supply, and testing components before anything is pulled out.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with JennAir. If this range is still under its factory warranty, contact JennAir first.

- Convection fan stopped, leaving uneven baking across racks
- Control panel unresponsive on a slide-in model
- Heavy pro-style range needing careful removal for access

Repairing JennAir ranges in the Las Vegas Valley
A JennAir range brings a high-output cooktop, a large convection oven and electronic controls together in one cabinet. Pro-style models are heavy, with cast iron grates and thick doors, and are often fitted tightly between counters. Slide-in models sit flush with the counter and put their controls on the front panel, sometimes with a downdraft built in.
With that much in one unit, the first job is figuring out which system has actually failed. A range that will not bake could have a bad igniter, a failed element, a control fault or a supply issue. Testing from the front first saves you the cost and risk of pulling the range out for a part that was not the problem.
All-gas and dual-fuel ovens
All-gas JennAir ovens light with a hot surface igniter, and as it ages it draws less current and opens the gas valve slowly or not at all. Dual-fuel ranges bake with electric elements and need a full electric circuit as well as the gas line for the burners.
When the cooktop works and the oven does not on a dual-fuel model, a tripped breaker leg is one of the first things we rule out.
Pro-style gas ovens also use a separate broil burner, often infrared, at the top of the cavity. If bake works and broil does not, that burner and its igniter are tested on their own.
Convection and error codes
JennAir ranges with convection use a rear fan and sometimes a dedicated element. A fan that stops leaves dark spots and uneven baking. Error messages that shut the oven down usually point to a temperature sensor, door lock or control fault.
We read the error, test the sensor and lock circuits and check the wiring before recommending a board.
Moving a heavy range
Pro-style ranges are heavy enough that moving one takes planning, floor protection and often two people. We disconnect gas and power properly and leak-test every connection when it is reconnected.
The anti-tip bracket must be reinstalled afterward. We check it on every visit whether or not the range was moved.
Repair value on a JennAir range
Igniters, elements, sensors, fans, locks and controls are worthwhile repairs on these ranges. A replacement pro range means installation, gas work and often cabinet adjustments.
On older slide-ins with multiple failures, we give you the full cost so you can compare it to a new range.
Burner and ignition faults on the cooktop are covered separately on our JennAir stove page, but on a range visit we test them along with the oven so nothing is missed.

The burners run on gas and the oven runs on a separate 240-volt circuit, so they fail independently. Check that the range's breaker has not tripped. If power is fine, the bake element, the convection element, the oven sensor or the control may be at fault. Testing each one tells us which part failed before anything is ordered.
Let the grates cool, soak them in hot soapy water and scrub with a nonabrasive pad. Do not put cast-iron grates in the dishwasher unless the manual allows it. Dry them thoroughly before replacing them, and make sure they sit flat, because a crooked grate affects the flame and can let pots tip.
Note the error message and turn the breaker off for a minute to reset the controls. If the error comes back, it usually points to a sensor, door lock or cooling fan fault, because JennAir controls shut the oven down to protect themselves. We test the related parts before considering a control replacement.
Usually. Pro-style ranges are expensive and built to be serviced, with replaceable igniters, valves, elements and boards. Repair makes sense unless the oven cavity is badly damaged or parts are discontinued. We give one price for parts and labor after diagnosis so you can decide before work begins.
Preheat time should stay fairly consistent for the same mode and temperature. If it has slowly stretched out, a weakening gas igniter, a failing bake element or a convection element that no longer contributes is the usual cause. Note which modes are slow and roughly how long they take now, which helps us test the right circuit first.
Hinges carry the full weight of a thick pro-style door every time it opens, and over years they lose tension. The door then closes slowly or leaves a gap at the top, letting heat escape onto the knobs. The door gasket can also flatten or tear. Both are moderate repairs that improve baking and protect the controls.
Slide-in ranges with downdraft have a blower and duct in addition to the cooking systems. The range usually needs to slide forward for blower work, so we plan floor protection and help in advance. The duct connection has to be resealed when the range goes back. Cleaning the filter regularly reduces blower strain and keeps grease out of the duct.
If the light, display and convection fan run, the control has power, and the fault is usually in the heating circuit: a gas igniter or safety valve on all-gas models, or a bake element or relay on dual-fuel models. A temperature sensor fault can also stop heating. We test each in turn before suggesting a board.
Clear the countertop on either side and the floor in front of the range, and empty the storage or warming drawer. Let us know if the range has a tile backsplash, trim or an island overhang that limits movement. If your HOA or building needs us registered at a gate, mention that when you book.
