How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Thermador ranges
Thermador ranges are professional-style Pro Harmony and Pro Grand models in 30 to 60 inch widths, in gas, dual fuel and induction versions, with options such as a griddle, grill and steam oven on the largest units. The range combines a burner deck, one or more ovens and a control system, so diagnosis covers each section. Common repairs include oven igniters on gas models, convection elements and fans on dual fuel, temperature sensors, door hinges, oven lights, and cooling fans. We test the oven and cooktop sections, check the gas and electrical supply, and quote one price for the full repair.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Thermador. If this range is still under its factory warranty, contact Thermador first.
Where Thermador ranges usually fail
- Gas oven slow to light because the igniter has weakened
- Dual fuel convection fan or element failing in the main oven
- Steam oven in a Pro Grand range showing water errors
- Oven door hinges wearing under the weight of the door
- Cooling fan failure allowing controls to overheat

Repairing Thermador ranges in the Las Vegas Valley
The Thermador range lineup is built on the pro-style Pro Harmony and Pro Grand platforms, in widths from 30 to 60 inches, offered as all gas, dual fuel and induction. The larger units can combine a main oven, a second smaller oven, a griddle or grill, and on some Pro Grand models a steam oven. Each of those sections has its own heating system.
A full range visit is therefore broader than a single burner or element repair. We check the supply, the cooktop, every oven cavity, the door hardware and the controls that tie them together. Many owners call about one failed section and are relieved to learn the rest of the range is healthy.
Gas, dual fuel and induction versions
Gas ovens use a glow-bar igniter and safety valve, with a convection fan in many models. Dual fuel ranges pair a gas burner deck with electric ovens that use bake, broil and convection elements. Induction ranges add power boards and cooling fans for the cooktop.
Knowing which version you have changes the first test for any oven heating complaint.
Large ranges with several ovens
On 48 and 60 inch ranges, the main and secondary ovens usually have separate heating parts and sensors. If only one oven fails, the fault is usually in that oven's element, igniter or sensor. If both fail, the supply, control or a shared relay may be the cause.
Steam ovens built into some Pro Grand ranges have their own water system, which needs descaling in hard water.
Doors, cooling fans and controls
Pro-style oven doors are heavy. Hinges wear over years of use, and a sagging door leaks heat and can make the control panel run hot. Cooling fans move air across the electronics; if one slows, controls may shut down during long bakes.
We check door alignment, gasket condition and fan operation on every range visit.
What owners can check on a pro range
Confirm the clock is set and that no Sabbath mode or control lock is active, since either can make an oven look dead. On gas models, light a burner to confirm the supply is on. On dual fuel and induction ranges, check that both halves of the double breaker are on, because one tripped leg can leave the clock running while nothing heats.
Leave the range in place. A pro-style range is far heavier than a standard one, sits on leveling legs and is tied to a gas line, a high-voltage circuit and an anti-tip bracket. Sliding it out without help risks the floor, the connector and the range itself.
Repair value on a professional-style range
Igniters, elements, sensors, hinges, fans and burner parts are standard repairs, and on a Thermador they are almost always worth doing. Control boards and steam oven components cost more, so we confirm the price and availability for your model and serial number before you approve anything. Replacing a 48 or 60 inch range also means matching the hood, backsplash and cabinet opening, which keeps repair the practical choice for many years.

Usually, yes. Each oven typically has its own igniter or elements, sensor and controls, so a failure on one side is often contained. We check the shared parts, such as the power supply and cooling system, then test the failed oven's components and give one price for the repair.
In most cases it is, especially on larger professional-style ranges. Many repairs involve igniters, elements, sensors, hinges or fans. Major structural damage or a combination of expensive failures may change the math, and we tell you directly when that is the case. You approve one price before repair.
Gas ovens light when the igniter heats enough to open the safety valve. As igniters age, they draw less current and the valve opens late. This is a common repair on gas Pro ranges. If you smell gas before lighting, turn the oven off and ventilate, then book service.
Note the exact symptom, any error message, and whether it affects the oven, burners or both. Check the breaker, and make sure the gas valve is open. The model number is usually behind the kick panel or inside the oven door frame. That information helps us bring likely parts.
Often, yes. Burner parts, oven igniters, elements, sensors and many hinge repairs are reached from the front, the top or inside the oven cavity. Rear wiring, the gas regulator and some control work need the range pulled forward. When that is necessary we disconnect gas and power first and protect the floor.
Uneven browning in a convection oven usually traces to a weak convection element, a fan motor slowing down or a door that no longer seals evenly. Rack position and dark pans also play a part. We measure cavity temperatures with and without convection to separate a part failure from a cooking setup issue.
The oven prompts you based on use and water hardness. In valley water, those prompts come sooner than they would in soft-water areas. Run the descale program when asked, and use the water type the manual recommends. Ignoring prompts lets scale damage the pump and steam generator.
Yes. A wide pro-style range is much heavier and is anchored with an anti-tip bracket. Moving it takes the right tools and usually two people. We plan access before starting, and we re-level the range and reattach the bracket at the end of the visit.
Many parts for older Pro Harmony and Pro Grand ranges are still available, though some boards and trim pieces are discontinued over time. We check availability for your model and serial number before quoting. If a key part is no longer made, we tell you before any work starts.
