What to know about LG ovens
LG ovens appear in two forms: the oven cavity of an LG range and the single, double and combination wall ovens sold under LG and LG Studio. Most use convection with a rear fan, and many have EasyClean, a short low-heat cleaning cycle, alongside or instead of a high-heat self-clean. Typical failures are a bake or broil element burning through, a convection fan that stops or grinds, temperature sensor drift, and door lock trouble after self-clean. We measure element and sensor resistance, test the fan and lock, and confirm the actual cavity temperature before quoting.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with LG. If this oven is still under its factory warranty, contact LG first.

- Convection fan noisy or not turning during convection modes
- Oven running hot or cool from a drifting temperature sensor
- Door staying locked after a high-heat self-clean cycle

Repairing LG ovens in the Las Vegas Valley
LG ovens, whether built into a wall or inside a range, rely on a temperature sensor, a control board and a handful of heat sources: hidden or exposed bake elements on electric models, a hot-surface igniter on gas models, and a rear convection element and fan on many units. Air Fry and ProBake convection modes add more fan run time than older ovens saw.
That design means most LG oven complaints come down to a weak heat source, a drifting sensor or a fan problem. We test those parts with a meter and check real cavity temperature with a separate probe, then quote one price. This page covers the oven itself. If the burners or cooktop are the issue too, the range page has more on the whole unit.
Hidden bake elements and how they fail
Many LG electric ovens use a bake element mounted under the oven floor instead of an exposed coil. It keeps the cavity easy to clean, but you cannot see a broken element, so the first sign is slow preheating or poor browning on the bottom. Replacing a hidden element means removing the floor panel or working from below, which affects the time involved.
Convection fans in daily use
LG convection fans run often, especially on models where Air Fry is a popular mode. Grease and heat wear the motor bearings, and a fan that rattles, slows or stops changes how evenly food bakes. We test the fan motor, its relay on the board and the convection element separately, since either can be the weak link.
If your convection mode works but baking is still uneven, the problem may be the bake element or sensor rather than the fan.
Owner checks before calling
Use an oven thermometer on the middle rack and compare it to the set temperature after a full preheat. A difference of a few degrees is normal. Check the breaker for an electric oven, since a wall oven often has a dedicated circuit, and make sure the gas supply is on for a gas model.
Do not remove the back panel or test wiring while the oven is connected, and avoid running a high-heat self-clean on an oven that is already acting up. The heat can push a weak part over the edge.
Repair outlook for LG wall ovens
Elements, igniters, sensors, fans and door locks are standard repairs and are usually worth doing. Control boards and touch panels cost more but are still often reasonable on a built-in wall oven, because replacing the oven means matching the cabinet cutout. On a double wall oven where one cavity fails, repairing that cavity is normally far less work than replacing the whole unit.

EasyClean uses a short, low-temperature cycle with a little water to loosen light soil, while self-clean heats the cavity to a very high temperature to burn residue to ash. That high heat stresses the door lock, sensors and fuses, and it is a common time for failures. For light messes, EasyClean is gentler on the oven.
Let the oven cool completely, then turn off the breaker for a minute and restore power, which resets many lock faults. Do not force the door, because that can bend the lock arm. If it stays locked, the lock motor, its switch or the control is at fault, and the lock may need releasing from behind the control panel.
Put an oven thermometer on the center rack, preheat to a set temperature, and read it after about twenty minutes. Readings swing during normal cycling, so take a few. If it runs consistently off by a wide margin, the temperature sensor or its connection is the usual cause. Many LG models also allow a small offset adjustment in settings.
Often yes. The two cavities usually have separate elements, sensors and fans, so a failure in one is a contained repair. Wall ovens are also built into cabinetry, which makes replacement more expensive and sometimes requires cutout changes. We test the failed side and check the shared control board before giving you one price.
Slow preheating is commonly caused by a weak or partly failed bake element, a weak igniter on a gas model, or a temperature sensor that reads wrong. On electric models, a half-tripped breaker can also cut power to one element. Using a convection preheat mode, if your model has one, can mask a failing bake element until it goes completely.
Usually it is safe to keep using regular bake for a short time, but a grinding or squealing fan is wearing and may seize. If you notice a burning smell, smoke from the back of the cavity or a tripped breaker, stop using the oven. Turn it off at the breaker and have the fan and wiring checked before more use.
Many repairs, including elements, sensors, igniters and door locks, are done from inside the cavity or the front. Control boards and some wiring require sliding the oven forward on its mounting rails, which is a normal part of the job. We protect the cabinet and trim and reinstall the oven securely afterward.
Many LG ovens let you adjust the temperature offset through the settings menu, which suits a small, consistent difference. If the gap is large, changes over time or varies between preheats, a sensor or heat source is likely failing, and recalibration only hides the symptom. We check the sensor resistance first.
An intermittent display can come from a loose connection at the board, a failing power supply on the control or a problem with the incoming power. Heat from the oven and long use can loosen connectors. If it happens with a breaker trip or a burning smell, stop using the oven and have it inspected promptly.
