How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Bertazzoni cooktops
Bertazzoni cooktops include gas cooktops, induction cooktops, and professional-style rangetops that sit in a cabinet cutout with front controls. Gas models commonly feature dual-ring power burners and flame failure devices on each burner. Induction models use power boards, cooling fans and touch controls. Typical repairs include burners that will not stay lit, igniters that spark constantly, uneven flames, induction zones that shut down, and cracked glass. On a visit we test igniters, flame failure devices and valves on gas units, or check induction boards, fans and touch controls, and inspect gas connections for leaks before quoting a repair.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Bertazzoni. If this cooktop is still under its factory warranty, contact Bertazzoni first.

- Rangetop knob must be held longer before the burner stays lit
- Induction zone shuts off with an overheating message
- Touch control on induction cooktop locks unexpectedly
- Glass surface cracked from impact or thermal shock
- Gas cooktop flame uneven around a dual-ring burner

Repairing Bertazzoni cooktops in the Las Vegas Valley
Bertazzoni sells three kinds of cooktop surface. Gas cooktops drop into a counter cutout with knobs on the deck. Induction cooktops use glass with touch or slider controls and a fan-cooled power board below. Professional-style rangetops sit flush with the front of the cabinet, with knobs on a front panel like a range without the oven.
Each one fails in its own way, so the first question on a visit is which type you have and which burner or zone is misbehaving. We test that part and its supply, confirm the model and part number, and quote one price for parts and labor before any work begins.
Dual-ring power burners and thermocouples
Most Bertazzoni gas cooktops and rangetops include at least one dual-ring power burner, with an inner and an outer flame controlled by one knob. Every burner carries a thermocouple that keeps the gas valve open only while it senses heat. That is why you hold the knob in for a few seconds after lighting.
When the inner ring burns weaker than the outer one, the inner ports or the small injector are usually partly clogged. When the burner dies the moment you let go, the thermocouple or its connection at the valve is the likely fault.
Rangetops versus drop-in cooktops
A rangetop's valves, spark switches and wiring sit behind the front control panel, close to the heat of the burners and right where spills drip. Drop-in cooktops have their valves under the deck instead. Knowing the layout tells us where moisture and grease are most likely to have reached a spark switch, which is the usual cause of clicking that will not stop.
Induction models and the cabinet below
Bertazzoni induction cooktops need air moving under the glass. A drawer stuffed with pans or a sealed cabinet bottom starves the cooling fan, and the power board protects itself by cutting the zone. On hot summer days, the margin is smaller. Clearing the space below is the first thing to try.
Safe checks before you book
Lift off caps and burner heads, wash them, and let them dry completely before reseating them flat. Wipe the thermocouple and spark electrode tips with a dry cloth. For induction, check the lock function and test with a pan a magnet clings to. If you smell gas, shut the supply valve and leave the house before calling the gas utility.
Repair or replace a Bertazzoni cooktop
Thermocouples, igniters, spark switches and valves are modest repairs and almost always worth doing. Induction boards and glass cost more, and replacing a rangetop means matching the cabinet opening and, often, the color of the range or hood. We confirm availability and lead time before you approve the work.

The flame failure device must heat up to keep the gas valve open. As the thermocouple ages or gets dirty, it takes longer to warm, so you need to hold the knob longer. Clean the thermocouple tip gently. If the burner still goes out when released, the thermocouple or valve may need replacing.
Induction cooktops need cool air beneath them. Blocked cabinet ventilation, a failing fan, or a heavy-bottomed pot left on high for a long time can trigger overheating protection. Check that nothing is stored directly under the cooktop. If it continues, the fan or power board may need service.
Many induction cooktops lock controls when water or a pan touches the touch area, or after a period of inactivity. Wipe the controls dry and keep pans away from them. If the controls lock repeatedly with a clean, dry surface, the touch control board may be faulty.
Yes, but a cracked surface should not be used, since spills can reach electrical parts. Turn off the circuit until it is replaced. Replacement involves removing the cooktop and transferring components. We check the induction or electric elements during the same visit.
Water or cleaner running down behind the knobs can bridge a spark switch, which makes the igniters fire. Let the area dry fully with the gas off and the power disconnected. If clicking continues for more than a day, a switch is likely damaged and should be replaced. Spray cleaner onto a cloth rather than the panel to prevent it.
Sometimes, but cutout sizes, depths and electrical needs differ. Induction requires a dedicated 240-volt circuit sized for the unit, and the cabinet below must allow cooling airflow. Check the installation guide for both units, or ask us to look at the opening and supply during a visit.
Touch controls sense your finger through the glass, and spilled water or a damp cloth can trigger a safety shutdown or error. Dry the control area and restart. If the error returns on a dry surface, the touch panel or control board may be faulty and should be tested.
No. Caps and heads are sized for each burner position, and the dual-ring burner has its own parts. Putting a cap on the wrong burner can cause uneven flames, delayed ignition or a flame that lifts. Match each cap to its base using the sizes in the manual or by fit.
Some induction models offer a bridge or flexible-zone function designed for long pans, and others do not. A griddle laid across two separate zones without that function heats unevenly and may trigger pan-detection errors. Check the manual for your model, and if the cooktop errors with a griddle it used to accept, have the zones tested.
