How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about Bertazzoni stoves
On a Bertazzoni stove, the surface burners are central to the cooking experience: brass or aluminum burner heads, a dual-ring power burner, continuous cast-iron grates, and electronic ignition with flame failure protection on each burner. Most stovetop calls involve burners that spark but will not stay lit, constant clicking after spills, uneven or yellow flames, and worn or stiff valves. Grates and caps must sit correctly for proper combustion. On a visit we clean and inspect burners, test igniters and thermocouples, check valves and gas connections for leaks, and make sure the stove is anchored before we quote.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Bertazzoni. If this stove is still under its factory warranty, contact Bertazzoni first.

Repairing Bertazzoni stoves in the Las Vegas Valley
On a Bertazzoni stove, the top is where the brand's Italian design shows most: continuous cast-iron grates, brass burner heads on Heritage and many Master models, and a powerful dual-ring burner for high heat. Each burner has its own flame-failure device and electronic ignition, which makes the top safer and also adds parts that need care.
When owners call about the stove, they usually mean a burner that will not stay lit, clicks endlessly or burns unevenly. We focus on those parts, test the gas supply and valves, check the grates and anchoring and quote one price before any work begins. The oven below is a separate system, which we cover on its own when it is part of the problem.
Brass burner heads and how they age
Brass burner heads darken with heat, which is cosmetic. Their weight and machining are part of why a Bertazzoni burner holds a steady flame, and that precision also means a head that has been dropped or bent no longer sits square on its cup. A dented or warped head is replaced rather than straightened.
When we inspect the burner top, we look at port shape, the fit of each head on its cup and the injector beneath, because a partly blocked injector starves the flame no matter how clean the head looks.
Valves that stiffen with time
Grease and spills can reach the valve stems behind the knobs. A knob that is hard to turn or sticks at certain positions may need cleaning and approved valve lubrication, or a new valve. Forcing a stiff knob can damage the valve. We check the valve and its spark switch together, since both sit on the same stem.
Owner checks for the burner top
Let the stove cool, then clean and dry burner heads and caps. Reseat them carefully. Make sure grates sit flat on their feet. If one burner will not light, check whether you hear a spark and smell gas. If you smell gas without a flame, turn off the knob, ventilate and do not try again until it is checked.
Leveling and anchoring the stove
A freestanding Bertazzoni needs to sit level side to side and front to back, both for even simmering and so oil stays in the center of the pan. We adjust the leveling legs after any repair that moves the stove. We also confirm the anti-tip bracket engages the rear leg, which is easy to miss when a stove is pushed back after cleaning or flooring work.
Why repairing a Bertazzoni stove top pays off
Thermocouples, electrodes, spark modules, valves and burner parts are designed to be replaced. A repair restores the stove to full performance for a fraction of replacement cost, and it keeps the color and style that often anchors the kitchen.

Each burner has a flame failure thermocouple that must warm up to keep gas flowing. Hold the knob in for several seconds after the flame lights. If it still goes out, the thermocouple may be dirty, misaligned with the flame, or worn out. Replacement is a common repair.
Remove the burner rings and caps and make sure the ports are clear and the parts are seated correctly. Spills can block the inner ring ports. If cleaning does not help, the inner ring orifice or valve may be partially blocked. We can inspect and clean these during a visit.
Let them cool, then remove and wash them in warm soapy water. Use a soft brush to clear ports. Brass naturally darkens with heat; that does not affect performance. Dry everything completely before reinstalling, since moisture causes igniters to click constantly.
Continuous grates rest on the cooktop surface and on each other. If they are not placed in the correct positions or if rubber feet are missing, they can rock. Check the grate positions against the manual. Worn feet are replaceable, and a stable grate helps keep flames even.
Delayed ignition often comes from a dirty or cracked spark electrode, a misaligned burner head or a partially blocked port. Clean and dry the burner and check that the head sits correctly. If ignition stays slow or you hear a small pop when it lights, the electrode or valve should be checked.
Many Bertazzoni stoves include or offer a wok ring for the dual-ring burner. Use it so the wok sits stable and the flame reaches the pan properly. Without a ring, a round-bottom wok can rock and push the flame unevenly, which can make the burner go out.
Occasional orange tips can come from dust or humidity in the air. A mostly yellow or orange flame suggests incomplete combustion from clogged ports, an incorrect injector or air mixing problems. Clean the burner. If the flame stays yellow or leaves soot, stop using it and have it checked.
Yes. Each valve has a minimum-flame setting that a technician can adjust. If a burner will not hold a gentle simmer, or the lowest setting is too strong for melting butter, the low setting may be off, which is common after a propane conversion. It is a quick adjustment, but it should be checked with the flame lit and the burner warm.
Knobs sit on a valve stem and can loosen if the stem or knob insert is worn. A loose knob may not turn the valve properly. Replace the knob or have the stem checked before using that burner, since a slipping knob can make it hard to control the flame.
