What to know about Bosch stoves
A Bosch stove is usually a slide-in gas or dual fuel range, so this page concentrates on the cooktop and burner side. Bosch gas burners are sealed, with a range of burner sizes, and many models have continuous grates. Typical faults are igniters that spark without lighting, burners that light unevenly because of misplaced caps, clicking that will not stop after spills, and stiff valves. We check gas pressure at the burners, the igniters and their electrodes, the spark module and switches, and the burner valves. If you ever smell gas, shut off the supply and leave the house before calling.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Bosch. If this stove is still under its factory warranty, contact Bosch first.
Where Bosch stoves usually fail
- Burner sparking but slow to light from clogged ports
- Continuous clicking after a boil-over wets the switches
- Simmer burner flame unstable or going out on low
- Continuous grates sitting unevenly so pans wobble
- Knob shaft stiff or wobbly from valve wear

Repairing Bosch stoves in the Las Vegas Valley
On this page, a Bosch stove means the gas burner deck of a Bosch slide-in range, plus older freestanding units. The cooktop side is where most daily wear happens: boil-overs, cleaning water, grates set down hard and knobs turned thousands of times. Those habits show up as ignition and flame faults long before the oven gives trouble.
Bosch uses sealed burners in several sizes, from a large burner for searing to a small simmer burner, and on many 800 Series models a FlameSelect knob with marked flame settings. Each burner has its own igniter, valve and switch, so we test them one at a time instead of assuming a shared part is at fault.
How a Bosch burner lights
When you turn a knob, a switch on the valve stem tells the spark module to fire. The electrode next to the burner sparks until the gas lights. A clean burner with correctly seated caps lights in a second or two.
If the switch stays closed after the burner is lit, all igniters keep clicking. That usually means moisture or residue in a switch, not a failed module.
Common burner complaints
Slow lighting usually means clogged ports near the electrode or a cap that is slightly off its base. A flame that goes out on the lowest setting points to the simmer burner orifice or valve. A burner that only half lights has blocked ports on one side.
A sharp pop when lighting means gas built up before the spark caught. That should be checked rather than tolerated.
Cleaning and checks owners can do
With the burners off and cool, remove caps and heads, wash them in warm soapy water, and dry them fully. Clear ports with a straight pin, not a toothpick that can break off. Make sure every cap sits flat and centered.
Do not spray cleaner directly on the burner base or knob area. If you smell gas with all burners off, close the supply valve, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside.
Repairs and when to replace
Igniters, switches, spark modules and burner valves are all standard repairs on a Bosch stove. We test gas pressure at the burners and confirm each flame before we leave.
Burner deck repairs rarely justify replacing the whole range. If the oven side is also failing on an older unit, we will price both and help you decide.
Grates, caps and the wear owners overlook
Heavy continuous grates protect the burners, but a grate that sits crooked can push a cap off center, and a chipped cap changes the flame pattern. Cleaners with bleach or harsh abrasives also dull the enamel on caps over time. We check these simple parts first, because a missing foot on a grate costs far less than a valve.

At very low settings, a small draft or a partly clogged port can blow out the flame, and a cap that is not seated correctly makes it worse. Clean the burner and cap, and keep windows and fans from blowing across it. If it keeps going out, the valve's low setting may need adjusting by a technician.
Check your model's manual. Many Bosch grates are cast iron and should be washed by hand to protect the finish. Burner caps are usually cleaned by hand, and they must be completely dry and correctly seated before use or the burner will light unevenly. Keep water away from the igniters.
We confirm the gas supply and the shutoff valve, then check whether each igniter sparks and whether the spark reaches the burner. A cracked electrode, wet switch, failed spark module or blocked burner can all stop lighting. On a dual fuel model, we also check the electrical supply to the oven side.
A small pop is sometimes caused by delayed ignition, where gas builds up briefly before the spark catches. It is worth fixing because it usually gets worse. Clogged ports, a misaligned cap or a weak igniter are typical causes. Clean the burner first; if the pop continues, have it inspected.
Each burner's switch triggers the shared spark module, but a clicking burner that will not stop is usually tied to one switch or one wet electrode. Turn the knob off, dry the burner area, and wait a few hours. If the clicking continues, that switch needs replacement.
Mostly blue with a slight yellow tip can be normal. A lazy, mostly yellow flame suggests poor air mix, a dirty burner or an orifice problem. Clean the burner first. If the flame stays yellow or leaves soot, shut it off and book a check.
Many Bosch gas models can be converted with the correct orifice kit and regulator adjustment. Conversion must be done carefully and each burner tested afterward. Most valley homes use natural gas, but some outlying properties run on propane, so we confirm your fuel type before making any change.
A brief smell as a burner lights can happen when ignition is slow. A persistent smell, or one with burners off, is not normal. Shut off the gas and leave if the smell is strong. Slow ignition should be repaired so gas is not released for several seconds before the flame catches.
Yes. Grates, caps and burner heads are sold individually. Using the right part for your model matters, because a cap from another model may not seat properly and can affect ignition and flame shape. We confirm the model number from the label before ordering anything for the burner deck.
