How a Repair Visit Works
What to know about LG stoves
When customers say LG stove, they usually mean a freestanding gas range, so this page focuses on the burner side. LG gas stoves use sealed burners with a spark module, and common complaints are burners that will not light, flames that are yellow or uneven, and a clicking that will not stop. Spills clog burner ports and igniters, and a cap placed off-center gives an irregular flame. On the visit we check the gas supply, the igniters and their switches, the spark module, and the burner valves. Before we arrive, keep the kitchen ventilated if you smell gas.
TrueFix Las Vegas is an independent repair company, not affiliated with LG. If this stove is still under its factory warranty, contact LG first.

Repairing LG stoves in the Las Vegas Valley
On this page, stove means the cooking surface: the burners, grates, knobs, igniters and elements on top of a freestanding LG. Most LG stoves we see have sealed gas burners, including a high-output burner and a simmer burner, with a shared spark module. Electric versions use a smooth glass top with radiant elements, and older freestanding LG units in rentals are often plain four-burner gas models that have seen years of daily use.
Surface problems are often caused by spills, cleaning habits and ordinary wear rather than a failed board, so the fix is frequently smaller than owners expect. We check the gas or power supply, test the switches and igniters, look closely at the caps, bases and grates, and then give you one price for the repair.
Why one LG burner behaves differently from the others
LG gas stoves typically mix burner sizes, with a power burner for boiling and a smaller burner for simmering. Each has its own valve and orifice. A burner that lights slowly or burns yellow, while the others are fine, usually points to that burner's cap, ports or igniter rather than the gas supply.
When every burner clicks at once, that is normal: the module sparks all igniters together. If they keep clicking after you turn the knob off, one switch is usually wet or failing.
Spills, cleaning and the ignition system
Water and cleaning spray running down a burner base can reach the igniter or the switch behind the knob. Often the clicking stops once things dry out. If it does not, the igniter or switch needs replacement. Using a soft brush and minimal water around the burner base helps prevent the problem.
Checks that are safe to do at home
Remove the grates and caps, clean the ports with a soft brush or a straightened paper clip without enlarging them, and let everything dry fully. Reinstall each cap so it sits flat. For an electric top, make sure the breaker has not tripped.
If you smell gas, do not light the stove or flip switches. Close the gas shutoff, ventilate, leave the home if the smell is strong and call the gas utility. Do not adjust burner valves or orifices yourself.
What the repair visit covers
We test the spark module, each igniter and switch, burner valves and the gas connector, or on electric models the surface elements, switches and relays. We also confirm the anti-tip bracket is in place, since stoves get moved for cleaning. Burner-side parts are generally modest repairs and are almost always worth doing on an LG that cooks well otherwise.

Turn off all burners, do not operate light switches or appliances near the stove, open windows, and leave the house. Call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Once the utility has made the area safe, we can inspect the stove's valves, fittings and connector and fix the appliance side of the problem.
Slow lighting usually means the gas is not reaching the igniter well, often because food has clogged some burner ports or the cap is not seated. Let the burner cool, lift the cap and clean the head with a soft brush, keeping water away from the igniter. If lighting stays slow, the igniter or its wiring can be tested.
Many LG gas ranges can be converted with the correct orifice kit and a regulator adjustment, but it must follow the model's instructions. Most homes in the valley run on natural gas, so conversions are not common. If someone has done a conversion before, we check the orifices and flame before repairing other parts.
A mostly blue flame with small yellow tips is normal. A large, soft yellow flame suggests incomplete combustion, which can leave soot and raise carbon monoxide. The usual causes are clogged ports, a misaligned cap or wrong orifices after a gas conversion. Let us check it rather than continuing to use a burner that burns mostly yellow.
Common reasons include a cap that is not seated, clogged ports causing the flame to lift, or a draft from a nearby window or fan. A flame that will not stay lit at any setting with a clean, seated cap can mean a gas valve or supply issue and should be checked. Turn the burner off and ventilate if it goes out repeatedly.
It is best avoided. Harsh oven cleaner can damage the finish on burner caps and bases and can corrode igniter areas. Warm soapy water, a soft brush and full drying are usually enough. Glass tops have their own cleaners and scrapers. Check your manual for any parts that are dishwasher-safe, since that varies by model.
Not always. Radiant elements cycle on and off at lower settings, so they can look dark while still heating. If an element stays dark and cold on high, or a hot surface light never comes on for that zone, the element, switch or relay may have failed. We test the element's resistance and the control circuit on site.
If the burners light and stay lit, and you do not smell gas, it is usually safe in the short term. The constant clicking is a nuisance and often caused by moisture or a failing switch. If drying the area for a day does not stop it, book a repair. Turning off the breaker stops the clicking but also cuts power to the oven controls.
No. Grates and burner caps are owner-replaceable parts that lift off. Make sure replacements match your model number, since cap sizes differ between burners. If a cap sits unevenly after cleaning, the flame will be uneven too. Igniters, valves and switches are behind panels and are best left to a technician.
